Hi, I’m Oskar. I’m a transmasculine non-binary person of mixed heritage and I’ve been exploring internal arts practices for most of my adult life.
I began studying with teachers in 2002 with Bruce Frantzis through Energy Arts, and more recently with Fabrice Piche of Qigong18, who I train with specifically to teach Tai Chi Shibashi. My meditation practice has been shaped primarily by study with Bruce Frantzis and Jane Launchbury of Longwater Tai Chi.
I started this journey trying to become something better, convinced that being human was a flaw. Over twenty years of practice I discovered that my humanity wasn’t something to fix, it was something to come home to. Qigong carried me through transitioning, through mental health struggles, through instabilities I didn’t think I’d navigate. I genuinely don’t know who I’d be without it.
I started teaching during the pandemic, encouraged by people who had been practicing alongside me. What began on Instagram moved to Zoom and has been running weekly since. I teach because I want people, particularly those who don’t usually get access to these spaces, to find what I found. Not a perfect practice, not a performance of wellness, but a real skill for living.
I particularly want to hold space for QTIPOC people, for queer and trans people navigating the world right now, and for anyone who has ever felt that the wellness world wasn’t quite made for them.
I also offer one-to-one sessions, online or in person depending on location, for people who want to think alongside someone as they work with these practices in their own life.
